aviator jacket & baker boy hat / my winter uniform

                 A chaque saison, une pièce Zara semble se retrouver dans nos garde-robes. J'adore l'enseigne et les vêtements proposés, mais j'essaie généralement de rester loin de ces tendances : vous me comprendrez si vous vivez dans une grande ville, car croiser tous les jours la même pièce sur une dizaine de personnes, ça peut être un peu lassant. Néanmoins, j'étais bien déterminée cet hiver à me dénicher une nouvelle veste très chaude, et les marques de prêt-à-porter s'en sont données à coeur joie pour nous proposer leur copies de la très célèbre veste Velocite d'Acne. Dès Septembre, j'avais craqué sur un modèle H&M mais je n'étais pas encore sûre de moi. Début Novembre, c'est donc chez Zara que je remarque également une copie de la Velocite qui est vraiment très ressemblante. Mais juste à côté, cette veste rembourrée avec un très grand col et un côté aviateur vraiment différent. Heureusement, c'est Stéphan qui m'a aidé à trancher pour cet achat et il a eu raison.

                 Each season, a new Zara trend spread accross our wardrobes. I love this shop and how the clothes there are cool and trendy yet affordable, but I usually try to stay away from the very popular pieces. You know what I mean : when you live in a "big" city where you can see the same item worn by ten different persons in just one day, it can be quite boring in the end. Nonetheless, I was quite determined to find a very warm jacket for this season, and highstreet brands were numerous to offer good copies of the famous Velocite jacket by Acne. In September, I had a crush on a H&M one, but I wasn't really sure yet. I waited until November when I saw that Zara had also released their version of the Velocite, really similar to the original one but difinitely budget friendly in comparison. But right next to it, another jacket caught my eyes : a padded jacket with a very high collar and an aviator vibe that was quite different. Thankfully, Stéphan helped me choose for this purchase and he was right.

Beaucoup de gens confondent souvent une veste "aviateur" et une veste "biker". En effet, ce n'est pas tout à fait la même chose, et la qualification de veste aviateur est un peu utilisée à tord et à travers. La Velocite de chez Acne est une veste de style biker : elle a le col semblable à celui d'un perfecto, une veste de motard donc (mon article à ce sujet ici !). La veste Zara sur laquelle j'ai craqué est une veste aviateur : le col est droit et monte assez haut. C'est ma veste préférée de tout l'hiver ! J'avais néanmoins longuement hésité entre les deux versions de chez Zara : la biker, et l'aviateur, et je suis finalement très contente d'avoir choisi la seconde, voilà pourquoi :

1. J'ai vu cette saison assez de vestes version biker de Zara pour toute une vie : tout le monde l'a ! Pas que ça soit négatif en soi, si tout le monde l'aime alors pourquoi pas, mais j'ai ce problème avec les vêtements qui fait que plus je les vois partout, moins je les aime. Heureusement, je vois aussi des versions similaires dans d'autres coloris, d'autres matières, ce qui est déjà beaucoup plus fun !

2. L'intérieur beige permet d'éviter la veste toute noir tout en restant neutre et passe-partout ! Autre petit point auquel j'ai pensé : je porte plus de vêtements clairs ou demi-tons que de vêtements noirs : les poils intérieurs risquent donc d'être moins visibles sur mes tenues s'ils restent collés. Quand j'avais essayé la version biker j'avais une chemise bleue claire et en la retirant j'avais des poils noirs partouuuuuut. Merci mais non merci.

3. Les détails métalliques de cette version aviateur sont dorés alors qu'ils sont argentés sur l'autre. Même si je mélange depuis quelques années maintenant les métaux dans mes tenues, j'ai toujours une préférence pour le gold donc ça a penché dans la balance.

4. Pour finir, Stéphan était avec moi pour m'aider à choisir et il avait tout de suite anticiper que la biker toute noire se verrait partout cet hiver ... Je ne regrette pas de l'avoir écouté car pour l'instant je n'ai jamais croisé la même veste que moi en ville ! Merci babe (aussi pour ta patience quand je prends une heure plantée devant le miroir du magasin à essayer de choisir) ♥.

Actually, a lot of people are usually confused between a "biker" jacket and an "aviator" jacket but they are not the same, and the term aviator is typically used a bit more than it should when describing the style of a jacket this season. The famous Velocite jacket by Acne is definitely a biker style : the collar is similar to a perfecto jacket, made for biker (you can read my post about that here). The Zara jacket I am featuring in this outfit is an aviator style : the collar is straight and quite high. And it is definitely my favorite winter jacket. Remembering my purchase process, I can still tell you I was really hesitant between the two types available, biker or aviator, and I am so glad now that I chose the second ! Here's why :

1. I saw enough Zara black biker jackets in this season for my whole life ! Not that it is a bad thing in itself : if everybody loves it then let it be, but I have this problem about clothes : when I see a piece too much out there, I'm not liking it that much. But thank god some people chose different colors or textures for that biker jacket which is definitely more fun !

2. The beige interior is different than the all black winter jacket yet remains neutral - and it's as simple as that ! Something else I had in mind when purchasing my jacket was the fact that I weat more lighted color clothes than black ones : if the interior texture of the jacket were to leave fluffy hairs on my clothes, it would be less visible if it were a light color. When I tried the black one I was weating a light blue shirt and as soon as I took the jacket off I saw black fluffly hair all over me ! Thanks but no.

3. The metallic details on the aviator jacket are gold, whereas they're silver on the biker one. Even if I mix and match different types of metals jewelrywise, my heart still mostly fall for gold so that definitely had an importance for me.

4. And finally, Stéphan were with me when trying both jackets on and wisely helped me decide : he foresaw how that biker jacket would be all over the place this winter ... I'm so happy I trusted him because I haven't even see one person with the aviator version on in the city ! So thanks babe (and also thanks for staying patient when I spend over an hour trying to decide in front of a shop mirror) ♥.

Le deuxième élément phrase de cette tenue est bien évidemment ma robe pull : les températures sont à présent descendues assez bas pour que je ne puisse plus m'en passer. Elle vient de chez H&M, et est tellement chaude que je n'ai pas besoin de sortir de chez moi avec quarante couches de vêtements quand je la porte (merci H&M pour les 5% de laine qui font la différence !). En réalité il ne s'agit pas d'une robe mais d'un pull, mais si vous êtes côté petite comme moi c'est parfait : elle est courte mais je la porte avec un short noir en-dessous pour être à l'aise et voilà ! Pour lui rajouter un peu de détails j'ai choisi de la porter avec une chemise en dessous et de laisser dépasser le col et les manches : ça donne tout de suite une tenue plus travaillée. La chance avec ce genre de pièce c'est qu'on peut les porter de beaucoup de manières différentes donc vous reverrez sûrement ce vêtement sur le blog avant la fin de la saison.

Enfin, la casquette gavroche qui, vous le savez, est mon coup de coeur depuis cet automne, et mes éternelles cuissardes qui sont parfaites avec des vêtements un peu courts ! Et je ne dis plus rien sur mon sac car vous commencez à y être habitués : si j'adore une pièce, je vais la porter et la reporter et la reporter. La vie est trop courte pour ne pas mettre des choses qu'on aime !

The second main piece of that outfit is of course my jumper dress : temperatures have now drop enough that I cannot live without it anymore. It is from H&M and is so warm that I don't have to put 40 layers of clothes when stepping out of my house (thank you H&M for those 5% of wool that make all the difference !). To be honest, this one is not really a jumper dress but just a jumper, anyway if you are a bit petite like I am, it will be fine. I am putting some plain black shorts underneath to be at ease and that's it. To add a bit more details to it I chose to layer a white shirt and to let the collar and sleeves visible so that the whole outfit is instantly more put together. This piece is so versatile that I'm almost sure you'll see it again on the blog by the end of the season.
Finally, my baker boy hat, which as you know, is one of my favorite piece since autumn, and my trusty over-the-knee boots which are just perfect to pair with short skirts or dresses. And I'm not gonna say anything more on this bag because you're used to it now : when I love something I'll wear and re-wear and re-wear it endlessly. Life's too short not to wear items we love !

En bref, réunissez tous mes coups de coeur automne-hiver et voilà exactement la tenue que ça donne - mon éternelle chemise, une robe pull toute douce, des cuissardes, une veste aviateur, un baker boy hat et mon sac préféré : what else ? Et puis parlons sérieusement : il fait sacrément froid en ce moment donc il faut se couvrir, blogeuse ou pas !

So this is what happens when you put all of my favorite winter clothes together - my classic shirt, a cozy jumper dress, an aviator jacket, a baker boy hat and my favorite handbag : what else ? And let's be real : baby it's cold outside. So blogger or not, I gotta stay warm !
